چکیده

Single droplet impingement onto inclined heated surface is studied experimentally. Droplet in the form of aquades dropped from a fixed height 70 mm to metal with 45º impact angle. This experiment uses 3 types metals; Stainless Steel AISI 304, Aluminum Alloy 2024, and Copper. All material surfaces are mirror polished assumed have same treatment condition. Surface temperatures 110 ºC, 150 ºC 210 determine behavior characteristics. The has 3.0 diameter 28.5 Weber Number (low category). In order analyze slow motion high velocity camera 4000 fps (frames per second) used image resolution 1024 x 768. Data obtained then processed using MATLAB processing technique sequence images visually quantitatively several parameters; spreading ratio, dimensionless contact time. The results showed droplets different characteristics even at temperature. time on copper shorter than aluminum stainless steel. because experienced bouncing due film boiling regime takes place earlier. Maximum ratio stainless-steel higher changes steel slower still experiencing

Numerical and experimental study of spray cooling of a heated metal surface

The spraying of an impinging jet is an effective way to cool heated surfaces. The objective of this study is to develop a numerical model to predict the heat transfer with phase change between a hot plate surface and a two-phase impinging jet. Different two-phase modeling approaches (Lagrangian and Eulerian methods) are compared. The influence of the spray nozzle operating conditions (pressure,...

Experimental Study of Natural Convection Cooling of Vertical Cylinders with Inclined Plate Fins

Abstract: In this paper, natural convection from vertical cylinders with inclined plate fins is investigated experimentally for use in cooling electronic equipment. Extensive experimental investigations are performed for various inclination angles, fin numbers, and base temperatures. From the experimental data, a correlation for estimating the Nusselt number is proposed. The correlation is appl...

Irreversibility Analysis of MHD Buoyancy-Driven Variable Viscosity Liquid Film along an Inclined Heated Plate Convective Cooling

Analysis of intrinsic irreversibility and heat transfer in a buoyancy-driven changeable viscosity liquid along an incline heated wall with convective cooling taking into consideration the heated isothermal and isoflux wall is investigated. By Newton’s law of cooling, we assumed the free surface exchange heat with environment and fluid viscosity is exponentially dependent on temperature. Appropr...

Convection patterns in end-heated inclined enclosures.

The natural convection in inclined side-heated rectangular boxes with adiabatic walls is theoretically and numerically investigated. The study is focused on the characterization of the convection patterns arising at the core of the basic steady unicellular flow and covers the whole range of Prandtl numbers (0< or = Pr < or = infinity) and inclinations (from alpha=0 degrees, heated-from-below ve...

Theoretical and experimental study of the effects of spray inclination on two-phase spray cooling and critical heat flux

Experiments were conducted with PF-5052 liquid sprays impacting a 1.0 1.0 cm heated test surface at different inclination angles, flow rates, and subcoolings. Inclination angle had no noticeable effect on the single-phase or two-phase regions of the boiling curve. Maximum CHF was always achieved with the spray impinging normal to the test surface; increasing angle of inclination away from the n...
