Experimental Study and Modelling on the Structural Response of Fiber Reinforced Concrete Beams

In many structural applications, concretes reinforced with short metal or synthetic fibers (fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC)) have a number of advantages over traditional steel rebars reinforcement, such as easier and more economical production, wear resistance, impact integrity, etc. the present study, several mixes were developed prismatic FRC specimens fabricated. Their behaviors studied using bending tests until prisms fractured. Two types fibers, namely, polypropylene (PP) three different matrixes investigated, testing in total 12 specimens. Every group had same matrix, but internal fiber architecture. All tested by Four-Point Bending (4PBT). The analysis was carried out goal to determine workability flexural tensile strength all groups, comparing these parameters fracture modelling results. Single crack formation opening model established. Crack is crossing whole stretched part prism’s orthogonal crossection. opening, are bridging pulling out. Load bearing curves compared experimentally obtained.
