Experimental Research on Seismic Performance of Masonry-Infilled RC Frames Retrofitted by Using Fabric-Reinforced Cementitious Matrix Under In-Plane Cyclic Loading

Abstract Fabric-reinforced cementitious matrix (FRCM) composites, also known as textile-reinforced mortars (TRMs), represent a new advancement in structural repair and reinforcement technology. Aiming to improve the energy efficiency seismic performance of existing buildings, this research focused on development an FRCM system combination with phase change materials (PCMs) extruded polystyrene sheets (XPS) achieve adequate mechanical thermal properties for reinforced concrete (RC) masonry structures. Accordingly, in-plane behaviour five FRCM-strengthened RC frames hollow-brick wall infill was tested under cyclic loading investigate improvement earthquake resistance. The comprehensively evaluated by calculating hysteresis curves; comparing lateral stiffness, ductility, dissipation capacity; measuring deformations specimens; analysing failure modes mechanically. Finally, it proved that novel integrated approach could significantly enhance masonry-infilled frames.
