Experimental Investigation on Evaporator Surface Modification for Hydrophobicity and Frost Resistance

Frost accumulated on the surface of evaporator leads to increase heat transfer resistance between refrigerant and environmental medium, which reduces system performance cold storage air source pump. To solve this problem, surface-modified can achieve retardation frost formation, greatly improves exchange effect external environment. In paper, a novel coating sprayed was developed using sol-gel method hydrophobicity, durability, thermal conductivity were investigated. Moreover, modified weight measurement under different temperatures humidity first proposed. The results showed that has favorable hydrophobic conductivity, long service life. Under standard experimental condition, be reduced up 26.1 %. Additionally, composition ratio its further sum up, new potential for industrialized application.
