چکیده
The development of Marine Renewable Energy based on tidal currents at a selected area needs to first analyze the flow characteristics and thus bathymetry induced turbulence in this area. present study aims investigate around two wall mounted obstacles tandem, which represent seabed high Reynolds number flow. 2D planar PIV measurements are performed multiple planes access main organization. Based successive analyses mean as well organization, it is demonstrated that presence an upstream cube clearly impacts cylinder wake by preventing rising large scale structures observed for isolated wall-mounted same conditions. TKE budget analysis shows energy mainly produced shear layer, exchanges very small far field, comparison with single configuration. A Fourier cube–cylinder interaction generates low frequency peak field persists long downstream distances. This particular signature coherent structures. statistical two-point correlation velocity tensor confirms energetic nature develop horizontally. Elongated identified seem correspond hairpin-like Instantaneous vortex also characterized local identification swirling strength criterion, confirming previous FFT results. impact strongest near symmetrical transverse plane prevents from water column.

Experimental Investigation of wake on an elliptic cylinder in the presence of tripping wire
In this research, the behavior and characteristics of the wake of flow in an elliptic cylinder with zero angle of attack in the presence of a tripping wire were investigated experimentally. For this purpose, the used an Aluminum cylinder with an elliptical cross section of the major and minor axis of 42.4 mm and 21.2 mm, respectively, and of the height of 390 mm. The cylinder model was examined...

an experimental study was carried out on the wake of a cylinder on the back of which a plate is installed parallel to the fluid flow, with different terminal angles, where the reynolds number is 50000. at the end of the plate, blades with the height of 0.25 equal to the cylinder diameter and with 45, 90 and 135 degrees angle from the horizon, are installed where the cylinder diameter is equal t...
متن کاملExperimental investigation for wake of the circular cylinder by attaching different number of tripping wires
An experimental study is conducted on flow past a circular cylinder fitted with some tripping wires on its surface. The work investigates the dependency of the critical wire locations on the wire size and Reynolds numbers, and examines the wake and vortex shedding characteristics in an effort to advance the understanding of the critical wire effects beyond the existing literature. The primary a...
