چکیده
This paper presents an experimental investigation of cold-formed built-up box section (CFBBS) stub columns infilled with lightweight aggregate concrete under concentric loading. The programme included a series twenty-four concrete-filled sections comprising by two nested thin-walled C-sections using breakstem rivets at flange and eight reference hollow for comparison purposes. These four different cross-section sizes were three compression strengths, i.e., 20, 30 40 MPa. failure modes, ultimate compressive load load-end shortening relationship the test specimens compared discussed. A set performance indices was calculated from results to evaluate structural several aspects. In addition, confinement effect investigated extensively based on strain development. Finally, are used applicability design equations specified in existing codified provisions, including Eurocode (EC4), Australia/New Zealand Standard (AS/NZS 2327) America Specification (AISC 360-16). It found that EC4 consideration effective area outer CFBBS provided most accurate less scattered predictions. Predictions AS/NZS 2327 generally be slightly unsafe while those AISC 360-16 conservative.

Experimental and Numerical Study on Bar-Reinforced Concrete Filled Steel Tubular Columns Under Axial Compression
The behaviors of bar-reinforced concrete filled steel tubular columns subjected to axial load were studied. One plain concrete filled steel tubular column and three bar-reinforced concrete filled steel tubular columns were tested. The deformation of specimens and the strain of steel tubes were measured. Based on experimental researches, a simple numerical analysis method was presented to simula...
متن کاملExperimental Study on Performance of Fiber Concrete-filled Tube Columns under Axial Loading
There have been great developments in the area of civil engineering in the recent few decades and among these, construction and material innovation are quite prominent. Steel-concrete composite construction has emerged as one of the fastest methods of construction. Even though considerable research efforts on conventional reinforced concrete columns have been executed prior to now, concrete fil...
متن کاملExperimental Investigation on Cold-Formed Steel Foamed Concrete Composite Wall under Compression
A series of tests on cold-formed steel foamed concrete (CSFC) composite walls subjected to axial load were proposed. The primary purpose of the experiments was to study the mechanical behavior and identify the failure modes of CSFC composite walls. Two main factors were considered in this study: 1) specimen with pouring foamed concrete or without and 2) different foamed concrete density ranks (...
متن کاملA unified formulation for circle and polygon concrete-filled steel tube columns under axial compression
Current design practice of concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) columns uses different formulas for different section profiles to predict the axial load bearing capacity. It has always been a challenge and practically important issue for researchers and design engineers who want to find a unified formula that can be used in the design of the columns with various sections, including solid, hollow, ...
متن کاملExperimental Study on Fibre-reinforced Cementitious Matrix Confined Concrete Columns under Axial Compression
Poor fire resistance of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) restricts its further application in construction structures. In this paper, a novel fibre-reinforced cementitious matrix confined concrete column (FRCMCC) using fireproof grout as the fibre matrix was developed, and experiments were conducted to establish its performance and analyse the mechanical properties under axial compression. The te...
