Experimental implementation of Hardy-like quantum pigeonhole paradoxes

چکیده
We present the general Hardy-like quantum pigeonhole paradoxes for \textit{n}-particle states, and find that each of such can be simply associated to an un-colorable solution a specific vertex-coloring problem induced from projected-coloring graph (a kind unconventional graph). Besides, as special Hardy's paradox, several kinds even give rise higher success probability in demonstrating conflict between mechanics local or noncontextual realism than previous paradoxes. Moreover, not only multi-qubit but high-dimensional states exhibit In contrast one type contradiction presented original two three-qubit minimal illustration are discussed our work, optical experiment verify stronger paradox is performed. This provides innovative thoughts methods exploring new types multi-party nonlocality may have potential applications untrusted communications device-independent random number generation.

Experimental observation of Hardy-like quantum contextuality.
Contextuality is a fundamental property of quantum theory and a critical resource for quantum computation. Here, we experimentally observe the arguably cleanest form of contextuality in quantum theory [A. Cabello et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 111, 180404 (2013)] by implementing a novel method for performing two sequential measurements on heralded photons. This method opens the door to a variety of f...
متن کاملQuantum Profiles and Paradoxes
This paper discusses questions concerning the foundations of quantum mechanics (entanglement, wave collapse, irreversibility) with reference to the issues raised during a Minisymposium held in Helsinki, 1.6-3.6 in 1992, where A Shimony, A Peres and B d’Espagnat were invited to lecture. The measurement problem is related to the phenomenon of irreversibility which is known not to follow from any ...
متن کاملClassical analogues of quantum paradoxes
In this note we discuss a few simple classical (as opposed to quantum) prediction problems. The thrust of this work is to examine the predictive role of probability theory and we shall see that some situations are not really paradoxical. In particular we want to separate the role of probability as a predictive tool from one of the basic sources of strangeness in quantum mechanics, namely the pr...
متن کاملExperimental implementation of the quantum baker's map.
This Letter reports on the experimental implementation of the quantum baker's map via a three bit nuclear magnetic resonance quantum information processor. The experiments tested the sensitivity of the quantum chaotic map to perturbations. In the first experiment, the map was iterated forward and then backward to provide benchmarks for intrinsic errors and decoherence. In the second set of expe...
متن کاملExperimental Implementation of Fast Quantum Searching
Using nuclear magnetic resonance techniques with a solution of chloroform molecules we implement Grover’s search algorithm for a system with four states. By performing a tomographic reconstruction of the density matrix during the computation good agreement is seen between theory and experiment. This provides the first complete experimental demonstration of loading an initial state into a quantu...
