Experimental identification of a pneumatic valve-cylinder system for attitude control

Abstract. Vertical vibrations on agricultural tractors, due to soil irregularities, represent a major cause of diseases operators. The control noise and vibration the operator is interest (Italian) National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work (INAIL). A prototype an active suspension system seat has been developed in laboratories INAIL. can be configured with hydraulic or pneumatic actuation. This paper focuses solution powered by proportional pressure electro-valve. Since several valves are commercially available, three them have experimentally tested determine most suitable one purposes. Numerical modeling carried out described. Experimental tests selected allow identifying main dynamic parameters numerical models, providing reliable simulator adopted development optimization system. performances compared discussed.
