The Smart Morphing & Sensing (SMS) project was a multi-disciplinary upstream that investigated the use of intelligent electro-active actuators to modify lifting surface an aircraft. In particular, attention focused on trailing-edge, high-lift morphing devices aimed obtain optimal shapes improve aerodynamic performance wing large passenger present work describes experimental assessment morphed flap developed during project.
