Experimental and Numerical Investigation on the Triaxial Compressive Behavior of Steamed Recycled Aggregate Concrete

The use of recycled aggregates to produce precast concrete products is conductive the green development construction industrialization. This paper aimed study effects curing regimes and confining pressures on triaxial compression behavior aggregate (RAC). Triaxial tests were carried out RAC under different (standard curing, 60 °C—12 h 80 °C—9 h), designed 0 MPa, 2.5 5 10 MPa. results show that increase pressure limits expansion cracks, causing failure mode change from vertical splitting oblique shearing, compressive strength doubled at most. Compared with standard steam significantly weakened RAC, which was related reduction cohesion, cohesion cured °C reduced by 30%. closely follows Mohr–Coulomb criterion. Based discrete element method test results, an numerical model considering shape actual coarse established, propagation cracks discussed mesoscopic level.
