Experimental and analytical study on shear behavior of strain‐hardening cementitious composite beams reinforced with fiber‐reinforced polymer bars

Application of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement in concrete beams may cause large deflection and crack width, as well low shear capacity ductility due to relatively small stiffness FRP materials. To avoid these unfavorable factors evaluate the behavior FRP-reinforced structural members, a high-performance strain-hardening cementitious composite (SHCC) is introduced substitute conventional reinforced beams, four-point bending test conducted this study. Six SHCC with different transverse ratios spans, one reference beam, were tested. According results, beam showed enhanced carrying superior compared beams. The span effective depth ratio stirrup has great influence on including failure mode, load-carrying capacity, propagation, ductility. Finally, simplified truss-strut model for predicting steel or proposed, good agreement achieved experimental results.
