Experimental and analytical study of bond between basalt FRP bars and geopolymer concrete

This paper presents an experimental and analytical study of the bond behaviour basalt fibre reinforced polymer (BFRP) bars in geopolymer concrete (GPC). Pull-out tests were conducted on ribbed BFRP embedded GPC cubes considering different bar diameters (6, 8 10 mm) embedment lengths (5db, 10db 15db) to investigate their effects terms bond-slip response, strength failure mechanisms. Results indicate that chemical adhesion is low, mainly dependent mechanical interlocking which stopped when pullout occurred by local crushing with ribs remaining undamaged, suggesting high rib shear strength. A theoretical bilinear model was used describe relationship interface properties. There exists nonlinear stress distribution, especially for longer lower load levels a concentration factor 3.9. parametric performed estimate influences diameter, length elastic modulus maximum pull-out load, based transfer mechanisms between explored, formula predicting proposed comparison data.
