Experimental Analysis of Lightweight Fire-Rated Board on Fire Resistance, Mechanical, and Acoustic Properties

Using lightweight fire-rated board (LFRB) presents cost-effective opportunities for various passive fire protection measures. The aim of the project is to develop an LFRB with enhanced resistance, acoustic properties, and mechanical properties. These properties were determined using a Bunsen burner, furnace, energy-dispersive X-ray, impedance tube instrument, Instron universal testing machine. To fabricate LFRBs, vermiculite perlite blended flame-retardant binders, four types LFRBs produced. A test was conducted compare fire-resistance performance commercially available board. B2 prototype showed exceptional fire-resistant temperature reduction up 73.0 °C, as compared magnesium Incorporating nano chicken eggshell into specially formulated binder preserved LFRBs’ structural integrity, enabling them withstand 120 min equilibrium 92.6 °C. This approach also provided absorption coefficient α = 2.0, high flexural strength 3.54 MPa, effective flame-retardancy low oxygen/carbon ratio 2.60. results make valuable applications in construction building materials industry.
