Experimental Analysis of Influence of Injection Pressure on Compression Ignition Engine With Biodiesel and Nanoparticles Blend

Abstract The scarcity of conventional fuel and stringent emission norms made researchers to look after alternative fuels run an internal combustion engine . One the possible alternatives for Compression Ignition is biodiesel. Although there are some challenges such as high viscosity, low calorific value, carbon deposit on injector nozzle , etc. To overcome these challenge nanoparticles added which will bring most properties near virgin diesel. Simarouba a non-edible biodiesel feedstock used aluminum oxide with 50 nm size. Using probe-type Ultrasonication process nano-biodiesel blend prepared. improve stability SDS surfactants added. characterization studied using SEM image. performance tested different dosage levels mainly 25 ppm, 75 ppm. injection timing, pressure, speed kept constant, whereas pressure varied 200 bar, 225 250 bar. There found 5.2% increase in brake thermal efficiency at bar compare pressure. For same thing specific consumption decreased by 9%. Most emissions Carbon monoxide, unburnt hydrocarbons decreased, significant amount oxides nitrogen found.
