Exogenous Melatonin Improves the Quality Performance of Rice under High Temperature during Grain Filling

چکیده

With the increasing greenhouse effect, high temperature has become most unfavorable environmental factor for rice grain filling process, affecting yield and quality mainly through changing composition structure of starch in grains. Research focused on rational management water fertilizer, spraying exogenous chemicals, which have important measures to alleviate stress rice. As a multifunctional molecule, melatonin potential improve plant resistance by enhancing scavenging efficiency reactive oxygen species (ROS), thus protecting plants from adverse effects abiotic stress. The present study used typical japonica variety Nipponbare (NPB) as experimental material, was treated with during grain-filling stages. growth traits, well synthesis, response were analyzed systematically. Exogenous significantly increased leaf photosynthetic heat-resistance properties. Melatonin could key physicochemical properties related quality. Furthermore, milled NPB had better endosperm appearance under temperature. Further found that stabilize chain length distribution (especially amylopectin), implied be cultivation effect quality, optimization amylopectin synthesis can also results provide new idea research direction context global warming.

Proteomics of rice grain under high temperature stress

Recent proteomic analyses revealed dynamic changes of metabolisms during rice grain development. Interestingly, proteins involved in glycolysis, citric acid cycle, lipid metabolism, and proteolysis were accumulated at higher levels in mature grain than those of developing stages. High temperature (HT) stress in rice ripening period causes damaged (chalky) grains which have loosely packed round ...

Transcriptional control of nutrient partitioning during rice grain filling.

Cereal grains accumulate carbohydrates, storage proteins and fatty acids via different pathways during their development. Many genes that participate in nutrient partitioning during grain filling and that affect starch quality have been identified. To understand how the expression of these genes is coordinated during grain development, a genomic approach to surveying the participation and inter...

Effect of elevated CO2 and high temperature on seed-set and grain quality of rice

Hybrid vigour may help overcome the negative effects of climate change in rice. A popular rice hybrid (IR75217H), a heat-tolerant check (N22), and a mega-variety (IR64) were tested for tolerance of seed-set and grain quality to high-temperature stress at anthesis at ambient and elevated [CO(2)]. Under an ambient air temperature of 29 °C (tissue temperature 28.3 °C), elevated [CO(2)] increased v...

Involvement of cytokinins in the grain filling of rice under alternate wetting and drying irrigation.

Cytokinins may reflect soil water status and regulate rice (Oryza sativa L.) grain filling. This study investigated the changes in cytokinin levels in rice plants and their relations with grain filling under alternate wetting and drying irrigation. Two 'super' rice cultivars were field grown. Three irrigation regimes, alternate wetting and moderate soil drying (WMD), alternate wetting and sever...

Investigation of the growth rate and secondary metabolites content of Lepidium sativum under exogenous melatonin treatment

Medicinal plants are rich sources of secondary metabolites. Lepidium sativum possess active compounds and secondary metabolites, including polyphenol, anthocyanin, flavonoid compounds, which are of special pharmaceutical and economic importance. Melatonin as bio-stimulator compound has a regulatory role on the amount of secondary metabolites and plant tolerance to environmental stresses. In thi...
