Exhaust and non-exhaust emissions from conventional and electric vehicles: A comparison of monetary impact values

چکیده

The switch to electric vehicles (EVs) has been incentivised by governments all over the world reduce use of fossil fuels and improve air quality. However, whether such a move could effectively lower levels pollutants as much expected is still controversial. This study estimates impact values exhaust non-exhaust emissions emitted from internal combustion engine (ICEVs) their equivalent EVs an economic-environmental perspective, expressed monetary values, so ascertain environmental effect ICEVs. These were calculated according emission factors damage costs these pollutants. results indicate that particulate matter (PM) may exceed those ICEVs, which depends primarily on extent regenerative braking road type. total decrease for diesel passenger cars with 0% braking. For conversion petrol braking, however, increase both urban rural roads. can be useful assessment vehicle emissions.

Exhaust emissions from light- and heavy-duty vehicles: chemical composition, impact of exhaust after treatment, and fuel parameters.

This paper presents results from the characterization of vehicle exhaust that were obtained primarily within the Swedish Urban Air Project, "Tätortsprojektet." Exhaust emissions from both gasoline- and diesel-fueled vehicles have been investigated with respect to regulated pollutants (carbon monoxide [CO], hydrocarbon [HC], nitrogen oxides [NOx], and particulate), unregulated pollutants, and in...

Non - exhaust traffic related emissions

Traffic related sources are a significant contributor of particulate matter, particularly in urban environments and major cities. Traffic related particles can be distinguished into: exhaust traffic related particles, which are emitted as a result of incomplete fuel combustion and lubricant volatilization during the combustion procedure, and nonexhaust traffic related particles, which are eithe...

Nanoparticle emissions from 11 non – vehicle exhaust sources – A review

Nanoparticle emissions from road vehicles have been studied extensively in the recent past due to their dominant contribution towards the total airborne particle number concentrations (PNCs) found in the urban atmospheric environment. In view of upcoming tighter vehicle emission standards and adoption of cleaner fuels in many parts of the world, the contribution to urban nanoparticles from non–...
