Exergy-Based Thermo-Hydraulic Performance of Roughened Absorber in Solar Air Heater Duct

This paper presents the thermo-hydraulic performance of small conical ribs on absorber plate a solar energy air heater (SAH) using exergy analysis. Application protrusion is an attractive solution for enhancing thermal SAH. However, these are also responsible high friction losses and increased fan power consumption caused by turbulent flow. To optimize rib design, it vital to consider both hydraulic at same time. The SAH was assessed analytic method which predicts efficiency under operating parameters (e.g., Reynolds number, insolation temperature increase parameter). following geometric quantities were evaluated optimum efficiency: relative height (e/D), in range between 0.200 0.044, pitch (p/e), 6 12. combination 0.044 10 exhibits highest 0.0202. optimization performed considering parameter, aiming achieve maximum efficiency. e/D = p/e noted yield best when parameter above 0.0141 K∙m2/W.
