Examining Minimum Information Requirements for Electronic Aeronautical Charts

New concepts for aeronautical charting technology are being proposed, in which pilots would brief with a fixed chart but then fly user-configurable chart, may not include all the information elements that were briefed. We conducted study to identify set of minimum requirements this concept. Two hundred twenty-nine rated importance shown on four different types charts. analyzed data using one-way chi-square tests and consulted subject matter experts criticality level each element. classified 85% into one “importance” levels “minimum set” depicted what such concept might look like.
