چکیده
Energy demands keep increasing in this modern world as the population increases, which leads to a reduction fossil fuels. To resolve these challenges, Pennisetum purpureum, an invasive grass Brunei Darussalam, was examined feedstock for renewable energy through catalytic pyrolysis process. The activated carbon applied catalyst simple and economical solution. executed at 500 °C (the temperature highest biofuel yield) both reactors produce amount of upgraded biofuels. biochar produced from non-catalytic processes showed consistent yield due stable operating conditions, generated used work. A significant improvement found production biofuels, especially bio-oil. It that catalysts, number phenolic, alcohol, furans, ketones increased by reducing acidic, aldehyde, miscellaneous oxygenated, nitrogenous composites bio-oils. phenolic compounds functional groups (-C=O -OH) carbon. regenerated carbons also promising outcomes catalysts upgrading overall performance synthesized highly improving quality stability

Upgrading of Pyrolysis Bio-oil: A Review
The increase in the population of the planet and the rapid economic growth and, consequently, the high consumption of energy has created many environmental problems in the globe. Due to these reasons and the lack of renewability of these fossil fuels, there has been a steep trend towards the production of renewable fuels from natural sources, one of which is the production of energy from biomas...
متن کاملOpportunities for Napier Grass (Pennisetum purpureum) Improvement Using Molecular Genetics
Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach.) is a fast-growing perennial grass native to Sub-Saharan Africa that is widely grown across the tropical and subtropical regions of the world. It is a multipurpose forage crop, primarily used to feed cattle in cut and carry feeding systems. Characterization and diversity studies on a small collection of Napier grasses have identified a moderate level...
متن کاملIn situ catalytic hydrogenation of model compounds and biomass-derived phenolic compounds for bio-oil upgrading
The renewable phenolic compounds produced by directional liquefaction of biomass are a mixture of complete fragments decomposed from native lignin. These compounds are unstable and difficult to use directly as biofuel. Here, we report an efficient in situ catalytic hydrogenation method that can convert phenolic compounds into saturated cyclohexanes. The process has high potential for production...

The objective of this study was to evaluate the best level of inclusion of cactus pear in the ensiling of elephant grass Brazil seeds (BRS) capiaçu (Pennisetum purpureum), its effects on fermentative characteristics; and nutritional value. Experimental treatments consisted of BRS capiaçu grass silage with five levels of inclusion of cactus pear (0, 5, 10, 15 and 20% inclusion as fresh ...
