Evolution of poverty alleviation programme in India

چکیده

Since independence, India has made huge economic progress which no doubt raised the standard of living our people but still journey to eradicate poverty is quite long. One third Indian population below minimum income required for subsistence. Poverty a major social determinant health as poor lack access basic amenities like safe water, sanitation, food security, infrastructure etc., makes them highly vulnerable deadly diseases. On other hand, catastrophic expenditure on and loss productivity due disease millions every year. Seeing grave situation, Government launched various alleviation programmes from time time. In this review we discuss evolution employment generation programme since its inception in India. We also focus upcoming challenges further reducing rate future opportunities.
