Evidence of ferroelectric HfO2 phase transformation induced by electric field cycling observed at a macroscopic scale

نویسندگان

چکیده

The phase transformation of ferroelectric (FE) HfO2 induced by electric field cycling was observed at a macroscopic scale using the conventional X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. We confirmed that increase in switchable polarization (Psw) is result to amount higher symmetric HfO2, both scale. During characterization, we found an anomalous shift difference between in-plane and out-of-plane interplanar spacing every film fabricated. speculate this phenomenon unique may have played important role during waking-up effect FE-HfO2.

Can an electric field induce an antiferroelectric phase out of a ferroelectric phase?

It has been widely accepted that electric fields favor the ferroelectric phase with parallel electric dipoles over the antiferroelectric phase. With detailed measurements in polycrystalline ceramics of Pb(0.99)Nb(0.02[(Zr(0.57)Sn(0.43)(1-y)Ti(y)](0.98)O(3), we demonstrate in this Letter that electric fields can induce an antiferroelectric phase out of a ferroelectric phase, i.e., trigger an app...

THE ELECTRIC FIELD-INDUCED ANTIFERROELECTRIC TO FERROELECTRIC PHASE TRANSITION IN SOME (Pb,La) Zr0.55Ti0.4503 CERAMICS

Lanthanum substituted lead zirconate-titanate (PLZT) ceramics of composition 11.1/55/45 have been studied by measuring high electric field properties. Dc bias, dielectric and P-E hysteresis loop measurements have been employed to construct an E (electric field) versus T (temperature) phase diagram. At lower temperatures and small electric fields an antiferroelectric phase with tetragonal symmet...

Suppression of the antiferroelectric phase during polarization cycling of an induced ferroelectric phase

The ceramic Pb0.99Nb0.02[(Zr0.57Sn0.43)0.92Ti0.08]0.98O3 can exist in either an antiferroelectric or a ferroelectric phase at room temperature, depending on the thermal and electrical history. The antiferroelectric phase can be partially recovered from the induced ferroelectric phase when the applied field reverses polarity. Therefore, polarization cycling of the ferroelectric phase in the cera...

Electric field induced instabilities at liquidÕliquid interfaces

External electric fields were used to amplify thermal fluctuations at the interface between two thin liquid films. Similar to the results shown previously for the enhancement of fluctuations at the polymer/air interface, interfacial fluctuations having a well-defined wavelength were enhanced with a characteristic growth rate. A simple theoretical framework to describe the experimental observati...
