Event based approach for modeling indoor airflow patterns

چکیده

People spend a significant proportion of their time indoors, where the quality indoor air affects productivity, efficiency, and well-being occupants. One oldest challenges in building construction is designing ventilation system that ensures optimum quality. Acceptable should provide thermal comfort minimize human exposure to contamination. Characterizing these two elements requires information on both heat/mass transfer microenvironment time-specific activity individuals who move among microenvironments. While researchers have utilized simulation tools investigate this complex human-environment interaction, current numerical techniques severely limit simulations overly simplified, unrealistic scenarios. To address issues, paper proposes new innovative approach called event-based modeling (EBM) simulate airflow patterns for realistic interactions. EBM can an accurate approximation movement environments. also path complex, random interactions are pragmatically impossible solve by approaches. This formulates evaluates novel approach, then validates it via simple cases door opening walking.

An Incremental Hybrid Approach to Indoor Modeling

Most of mobile robots basic functions are highly dependent on a model of their environment. Proper modeling is crucial for tasks such as local navigation, localization or route planning. This paper describes a novel solution for building models of indoor environments. We use a 3D Laser on a mobile robot to scan the surroundings and obtain sensing information. While the robot explores the enviro...

State-Based Event Modeling

The lack of formal semantics of traditional approaches to business process modeling negatively affects the integration and sharing of models. The approaches that provide a semantics often do not discuss the ontological foundation of the assumed primitives hindering the intelligibility of the models. We propose an ontological founded modeling framework in which synchronic properties and relation...

Event-based conceptual modeling

The paper demonstrates that a wide variety of event-based modeling approaches are based on special cases of the same general event concept, and that the general event concept can be used to unify the otherwise unrelated fields of information modeling and process modeling. A set of event-based modeling approaches are analyzed and the results are used to formulate a general event concept that can...

High-performacne and Low-cost Computing for Indoor Airflow

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) can provide detailed information of flow motion, temperature distributions and species dispersion in buildings. However, it may take hours or days, even weeks to simulate airflow in a building by using CFD on a single central processing unit (CPU) computer. Parallel computing on a multi-CPU supercomputer or computer cluster can reduce the computing time, but t...

TESTING FOR “RANDOMNESS” IN SPATIAL POINT PATTERNS, USING TEST STATISTICS BASED ON ONE-DIMENSIONAL INTER-EVENT DISTANCES

To test for “randomness” in spatial point patterns, we propose two test statistics that are obtained by “reducing” two-dimensional point patterns to the one-dimensional one. Also the exact and asymptotic distribution of these statistics are drawn.
