Lubricating gears with synthetic OiLs
wind gearbOx technOLOgy is developing at a fast pace, not least due to operators demanding ever more power and efficiency. Experience has shown that the lubricant used is a crucial factor in meeting the wish for ever-increasing performance. Besides strictly technical requirements, aspects of economy and ecology are receiving more and more attention in lubricant selection. The technical requirem...
متن کاملThe Re-refining of Used Lubricating Oils
Re-refined lubricants have been produced in New Zealand for over 50 years. However, their acceptance as a high quality lubricant has been a gradual process, largely because of the scepticism of the public that the product can be re-refined to its original condition. In New Zealand Dominion Oil rerefines about 7 million litres per year, while an older acid clay method is used at Turua near Thame...
متن کاملEco-Friendly Multipurpose Lubricating Greases from Vegetable Residual Oils
Environmentally friendly multipurpose grease formulation has been synthesized by using Jatropha vegetable residual oil with lithium soap and multifunctional additive. The thus obtained formulation was evaluated for its tribological performance on a four-ball tribo-tester. The anti-friction and anti-wear performance characteristics were evaluated using standard test methods. The biodegradability...
متن کاملChanges in the Composition of Aromatherapeutic Citrus Oils during Evaporation
The composition of some commercial Citrus oils, lemon, sweet orange, and tangerine, designated for aromatherapy, was examined before and after partial evaporation in a stream of nitrogen. The intact oils contained the expected mixtures of mono- and sesquiterpenes, with hydrocarbons dominating and lesser amounts of oxygenated analogues making up the remainder. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometr...
متن کاملColor Evaporation Induced Rapidity
We show that soft color rearrangement of nal states can account for the appearance of rapidity gaps between jets. In the color evaporation model the probability to form a gap is simply determined by the color multiplicity of the nal state. This model has no free parameters and reproduces all data obtained by the ZEUS, H1, DD, and CDF collaborations.
