چکیده
Aim: Sudden cardiac death (SCD) due to arrhythmias is a major cause of in elderly patients on hemodialysis (HD). It has been found that prolonged Tp-e interval (Tpe) electrocardiography (ECG) and increased Tpe/QTc ratio are strongly associated with SCD. In this study, we aimed inves¬tigate the effects changes serum electrolyte levels pre- post-HD ECG parameters, particularly Tpe. Methods: The study included 160 HD (with no disease or medication known affect QT interval) 80 age- sex-matched controls normal kidney functions. All participants were aged 55 years older. Pre- values re¬cordings obtained. heart rate, QRS interval, QTc, Tpe, calculated. pre-HD data compared as well controls. Results: Tpe (p<0.001 for both comparisons) (p=0.024 p<0.001, respectively) significantly higher group than control group. each comparison). was longer hypocalcemia hy¬perphosphatemia normocalcemic normophosphatemic (p=0.04 data¬sets). ΔTpe correlated Δcalcium (r=-0.19, p=0.02) Δphosphorus (r=-0.23, p=0.004). Conclusion: HD, which before even more after HD. Hypocalcemia hyperphosphatemia may be among un¬derlying factors.

Evaluation of Tp-e interval and Tp-e/QT ratio in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) is a chronic inflammatory viral disorder. Several studies have suggested that the interval from the peak to the end of the electrocardiographic T wave (Tp-e) may correspond to the transmural dispersion of repolarisation and that increased Tp-e interval and Tp-e/QT ratio are associated with malignant ventricular arrhythmias. Impaired autonomic function has been describe...

Prolonged Tp-e Interval, Tp-e/QT Ratio and Tp-e/QTc Ratio in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
BACKGROUND Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is associated with increased risk of malignant ventricular arrhythmias. Cardiac electrical inhomogeneity may be the leading cause of the increased arrhythmic risk in patients with T2DM. The peak and the end of the T wave (Tp-e) interval and associated Tp-e/QT ratio are promising measures of ventricular repolarization indicating transmural dispersion of...

Objectives. Increased Tp-e interval (from the peak-to-the-end of the electrocardiographic T wave) and Tpe/QT ratio are associated with malignant ventricular arrhythmias. We aimed to evaluate the acute effects of levosimendan on Tp-e interval, Tp-e/QT ratio, Tp-e/QTc ratio and QRS interval in patients with severe heart failure. Methods. The study included 85 patients with decompansed heart failu...
متن کاملEffect of Cigarette Smoking on TP-E Interval, TP-E/QT Ratio and TP-E/QTC Ratio
Introduction: Cigarette smoking increases the risk of sudden cardiac death. Smoking may predispose to ventricular fibrillation and sudden cardiac death by altering ventricular repolarization and enhancing sympathetic nervous system activity. We aimed to study the effects of smoking on ventricular repolarization. Methods: We studied 47 healthy subjects. 24 long-term heavy smokers (10 women, mean...
