چکیده

An infection of the human oral cavity that is primarily fungal called Candida-associated denture stomatitis. Erythema palate and alveolar ridges are symptoms stomatitis, which a persistent inflammatory condition mucosa supporting dentures. So red pigment made by Serratia marcescens designated as prodigiosin was purified silica gel column chromatography with yield 3.7 g/l after being extracted at higher concentrations using methanol 3.3 g/l. Additionally, UV scan revealed its highest absorbance occurred 535 nm, thin layer it had an Rf value 0.86 when compared to standard. In cases or Candida albicans dominating species followed C. tropicalis, parapsilosis dubliniensis, respectively. Checking for development biofilms spp. tropicalis produced biofilm but in different levels. The most effective source production isolates. were prevented from forming prodigiosin. isolates greater proportion inhibition, ranging 63 82%. contrast, percentage inhibition varied between 57 61%. Prodigiosin has favorable advantage potential usage dental sector since stops prevents growth biofilm.

Spray-dried Prodigiosin from Serratia marcescens As A colorant

Encapsulation technique via spray drying can be employed to enhance the natural pigment’s properties. In this study, spray-dried microparticles containing red pigment (prodigiosin) extracted from Serratia marcescens was produced using κcarrageenan and maltodextrin as encapsulation agents. The effect of spray-drying parameters on the encapsulation yield (EY), particle size and color intensity of...

Defects in prodigiosin formation by L-forms of Serratia marcescens.

An L-form of Serratia marcescens has previously been shown incapable of producing the red pigment, prodigiosin, characteristic of the parent bacteria. Mutants of S. marcesens, unable to form one or the other of the two prodigiosin precursors, 4-methoxy-2,2'-bipyrrole-5-carboxaldehyde or 2-methyl-3-n-amylpyrrole, were used to test the nature of the L-form defect. The L-forms failed to form suffi...

Review of Prodigiosin, Pigmentation in Serratia marcescens

Prodigiosins, a family of natural red pigments characterized by a common pyrrolylpyrromethane skeleton, are produced by various bacteria that first characterized from Serratia marcescens. This pigment is a promising drug owing to its reported characteristics of having antifungal, immunosuppressive and anti-proliferative activity. From an industrial point of view to obtain optimal conditions to ...
