چکیده

Introduction: Adjuvants are used in conjunction with local anaesthetics for brachial plexus block to quicken onset, prolong duration and augment the quality of anaesthesia.
Objectives: The study aims evaluate effect adding ultra-low dose naloxone bupivacaine on postoperative analgesia.
Methodology: A prospective, randomized, double-blind was conducted including forty American Society Anesthesiologists Physical Status (ASA PS) I II patients either sex between 15 65 years age scheduled upper limb surgery. They were randomized into two groups. Group BN received a mixture 0.33% plain (100 ng) group BS saline. procedure standardized both onset sensory motor assessed pinprick sensation muscle power respectively. Visual Analogue Score (VAS) assess pain at 1, 2, 4, 8 12 hours postoperatively.
Result: comparable respect age, sex, ASA PS, baseline hemodynamic respiratory parameters mean analgesia significantly longer (610.7±125.4 mins) as compared (354.3±59.6 (p<0.001). No complications noted groups.
Conclusion: This demonstrated that 100 ng naloxone, when supraclavicular block, prolongs after surgeries, without any significant side effects.

Evaluation of the analgesic effect of 2 doses of verapamil with bupivacaine compared with bupivacaine alone in supraclavicular brachial plexus block

Abstract Background: Different adjuvant drugs have been used with local anesthetics in order to decrease the time of onset and elongate the duration and quality of regional blocks. This study was performed to study the effects of one of the adjuvants, verapamil, in supraclavicular block. Methods: In this double blinded clinical trial, we divided 60 ASA class I and II patients who were to under...

[Pharmacokinetic and clinical effects of two bupivacaine concentrations on axillary brachial plexus block].

INTRODUCTION The risk of systemic bupivacaine toxicity is a persistent problem, which makes its pharmacokinetic study fundamental for regional anesthesia safety. There is little evidence of its influence on plasma peak at different concentrations. The present study compares two bupivacaine concentrations to establish how the concentration affects this drug plasma peak in axillary brachial plexu...
