Evaluation of Tetanus Seropositivity in Healthcare Professionals by Age and Occupational Groups

Objective: Our country has limited data on protective antibody levels following primary tetanus immunization. In this study, we planned to evaluate the seroprevalence of healthcare workers in our hospital according age and occupational groups. Methods: Tetanus were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. Antibody results obtained through operating system, level ≥0.5 IU/mL was considered seropositive. Results: 77.5% 2082 According groups, highest seropositivity between 20-29; lowest found individuals over 50 years (66.3%). We that protection decreased with (p=0.03). There no difference Conclusion: decrease age, decreases significantly, especially age. It is important apply a booster dose every ten vaccine schedule
