چکیده

Global warming and environmental degradation have stimulated the drive towards capture of large point source carbon emissions reducing high energy intensity industrial processes. Mixed membranes infused with porosity silica sodalite are potential useful for pre-combustion CO2 capture. However, development quality mixed matrix is a challenge. In this study, (SSOD) polysulfone (PSF) were developed evaluated The SSOD was obtained via topotactic conversion layered silicates; membrane prepared using phase inversion method. physicochemical nature SSOD/PSF checked XRD, SEM, N2 physisorption at 77 K. Single gas permeation used to check quality. shows that possesses higher surface area 56.56 m2/g pore volume 0.181 cm3/g, when compared hydrothermally-synthesized hydroxy (HSOD) crystals (surface area: 27.43 m2/g; volume: 0.084 cm3/g). asymmetric mechanical strength than ordinary PSF. Loading PSF enhanced its H2 permeance from 4.9 × 10?7 mol/m2·s·Pa but decrease in H2/CO2 separation factor 2.2 0.6. While attributed SSOD, ideal selectivity low still within values reported literature. Increasing loading up 10 wt% performance membrane, displaying 6.5 1.1. Though results study promising, robust synthesis protocol will further enhance both required. Furthermore, more studies required on process optimization techno-economic feasibility

Separation of Carbon Dioxide from Natural Gas by Matrimid-Based Mixed Matrix Membranes

Spherical MgO nanoparticles and Flake-like clay minerals modified with polyaniline (PAni) are applied in Matrimid in order to fabricate mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) having improved gas separation performance. The CO2 permeability, CO2/CH4 selectivity and CO2-induced plasticization pressure of MMMs are assessed at 4-30 bar feed pressure. The chemical structure, morphology and thermal properties...

Purified and Functionalized MWCNTs: Application In CO2/CH4 Separation Using Mixed Matrix Membranes

To fabricate a defect free and high performance mixed matrix membrane (MMM), one approach is the functionalization of inorganic nanofillers (as dispersed phase) in the organic polymer matrix (as continuous phase) to modify the interactions between two phases.  For this purpose,, raw multi-walled carbon nanotubes (rMWCNTs) were purified by acid mixture (HNO3/H2SO<sub...
