Evaluation of Serum Vitamin D Levels in Patients with Vitiligo

 Objective: To evaluate serum vitamin D levels in patients with vitiligo and compare them to the healthy controls.
 Study Design: Comparative cross-sectional study.
 Place Duration of Study: Dermatology Outpatient Department, Fauji Foundation Hospital, Rawalpindi Pakistan, from Nov 2019 Apr 2020.
 Methodology: The study included 75 (Group-1) controls (Group-2). Complete blood count, urea creatinine, liver function tests, TSH, fasting plasma glucose, B12 levels, calcium were performed. In addition, compared both groups.
 Results: mean age Group-1 was 32.81±20.59 years, Group- 2 40.13±16.09 years. Group-1, deficient seen 17(22.7%) cases, insufficient 25(33.3%) 33(44.0%) had normal levels. Group-2, 10(13.3%) 55(77.3%) Patients low 25(OH)D controls, this difference statistically significant (p=0.001).
 Conclusion: Low are controls.
