چکیده
Abstract We assessed the accuracy of deformable image registration (DIR) between CT and MR images using an open-source software (Elastix, from Utrecht Medical Center) a commercial (Velocity AI Ver. 3.2.0 Varian Systems, Palo Alto, CA, USA) software. Five male patients’ pelvic regions were studied publicly available CT, T1-weighted (T1w) MR, T2-weighted (T2w) images. In cost function Elastix, we used six DIR parameter settings with different regularization weights (Elastix0, Elastix0.01, Elastix0.1, Elastix1, Elastix10, Elastix100). Corrected Deformable algorithm for Velocity AI. The Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) mean distance to agreement (MDA) prostate, bladder, rectum left right femoral heads evaluate accuracy. Except most algorithms produced good DSC MDA results all organs. our study, DSCs bladder ranged 0.75 0.88 (CT-T1w) 0.72 0.76 (CT-T2w). Similarly, ranges 2.4 4.9 mm (CT-T1w), 4.6 5.3 For CT-T1w was outperformed CT-T2w both MDAs at Elastix0, Elastix0.1. case AI, no significant differences in organs observed. This implied that might differ depending on sequence used.

Multimodality image registration plays a crucial role in various clinical and research applications. The aim of this study is to present an optimized MR to CT whole-body deformable image registration algorithm and its validation using clinical studies. A 3D intermodality registration technique based on B-spline transformation was performed using optimized parameters of the elastix package based...
متن کاملEvaluation of deformable image registration in HDR gynecological brachytherapy
Introduction: In brachytherapy, as in external radiotherapy, image-guidance plays an important role. For GYN treatments it is standard to acquire at least CT images and preferably MR images prior to each treatment and to calculate the dose of the day on each set of images. Then, the dose to the target and to the organs at risk (OAR) is calculated with worst case scenario from I...
متن کاملPerformance validation of deformable image registration in the pelvic region
Patients undergoing radiotherapy will inevitably show anatomical changes during the course of treatment. These can be weight loss, tumour shrinkage, and organ motion or filling changes. For advanced and adaptive radiotherapy (ART) information about anatomical changes must be extracted from repeated images in order to be able to evaluate and manage these changes. Deformable image registration (D...
متن کاملEvaluation of Deformable Image Registration
Deformable image registration (DIR) is a type of registration that calculates a deformable vector field (DVF) between two image data sets and permits contour and dose propagation. However the calculation of a DVF is considered an ill-posed problem, as there is no exact solution to a deformation problem, therefore all DVFs calculated contain errors. As a result it is important to evaluate and as...
متن کاملDeformable registration of 4D-CT lung image using landmark
Landmark based image registration algorithms have been applied to medical image analysis widely. While estimation of the correspondence between landmarks among images are the most important and difficult problem. In this paper, novel landmarks based image registration method combining local tracking and global adjustment of landmarks in 4D-CT lung images is proposed. In order to accurately esta...
