Evaluation of Outcomes in Chest Trauma Patients using Chest Trauma Scoring System

INTRODUCTION Chest trauma is a common surgical incidence all over the world. Trauma scoring system (CTS) found in many studies to be an effective tool predict outcomes chest patients. The need for universal thoracic justified identify critical factors, patient outcomes, urgent intervention, and requirement of intensive care communicate with family. Therefore there study which can possible outcome. MATERIAL AND METHODS This prospective, longitudinal, observational conducted at Universal College Medical Sciences, Bhairahawa from October 2019 March 2021. score was used evaluate outcome admitted blunt chest. Duration hospital stay, respiratory complications, ICU Ventilators mortality were noted as outcomes. RESULTS In this study, 79 cases road traffic accident being major factor admission. Most patients age group 45-65 years male predominance (84.8%). results showed that high CTS ≥5 associated higher pneumonia ICU. ROC curve significantly sensitivity 100% specificity 92.2% cutoff value 7.5. Similarly, mean duration stay having 6.57 days more than <5. CONCLUSION Score good predictor trauma.
