Evaluation of Dental Students’ Knowledge and Opinion About Learning with Virtual Reality

AIM: Virtual reality (VR) based technologies have been used in dentistry for almost two decades. Dental simulators, treatment planning software, and CAD/CAM systems evolved significantly over the years, changing both dental education clinical practice. The purpose of this survey study is to learn knowledge, opinions, thoughts students our country on use VR-based simulators education, raise awareness issue. METHODS: Questions testing participants’ knowledge were data from peer-reviewed journals. questions consisting a total 25 delivered online via Google Forms (Google Inc., USA) who had preclinical training faculty before Covid-19 pandemic. obtained evaluated using descriptive statistics Pearson chi-square test. RESULTS: 422 662 female 240 male students. 82.3% participants studying at state university. 74.6% stated that they needed more education. While 89.9% participating do not information about with virtual reality, 97.4% simulator before. 85.5% them feel positive environment 86% prefer phantom models training. CONCLUSION: overall attitudes towards but very few as part undergraduate continuing programs rapidly advancing world, having will increase development such their inclusion
