چکیده
The standard treatment for patients with clinical T1bN0M0 esophageal squamous cell carcinoma is radical esophagectomy. Definitive chemoradiotherapy regarded as a option, and recently, good outcomes of this have been reported. This study compared prognosis after definitive From January 2011 to December 2019, 68 consecutive who were diagnosed enrolled investigated retrospectively. Patients classified into two groups whether treated by surgery or chemoradiotherapy. Survival compared, subsequent therapies recurrence also investigated. Among patients, 39 underwent 29 received No significant difference was noted in overall survival between the groups. However, rate 5-year recurrence-free significantly lower group than that (91.1 vs. 62.7%, hazard ratio 3.976, 95% confidence interval 1.076–14.696, p = 0.039). had local endoscopic submucosal dissection photodynamic therapy salvage therapies, which resulted no disease progression prognosis. may become promising alternative comparable esophagectomy carcinoma. Early detection frequent follow-up important control within recurrence, lesions could contribute long-term survival.

thoracoscopic-laparoscopic versus open esophagectomy for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
The aim of this study is to evaluate surgical results and long-term survival of combined thoracoscopiclaparoscopic esophagectomy (TLE) performed for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Data of 59 patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, undergoing TLE from January 2007 to January 2015, were compared to a control group of 59 patients who underwent open esophagectomy (OE) during the same...

In esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), chemoradiotherapy (CRT) has a curative potential even in cases of locally advanced carcinoma. However, only about half of the patients benefit from CRT, and an accurate prediction of sensitivity to CRT is eagerly awaited. Using microarrays, we analyzed gene-expression patterns of pretreatment biopsy specimens from 33 patients with CRT alone includin...
متن کاملComparative Outcomes of Induction Chemotherapy Followed By Definitive Chemoradiotherapy versus Chemoradiotherapy Alone In Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Purpose: To compare the clinical outcomes of induction chemotherapy (IC) followed by chemoradiotherapy (CRT) versus chemoradiotherapy alone in patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Patients and methods: Between 2002 and 2015, 267 ESCC patients who received definitive CRT with docetaxel and cisplatin were enrolled in this study. Through a matched case-control ...

Background and Objective: Esophageal cancer especially squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is one of the most common gastro intestinal malignancies in north part of Iran (Khorasan). The standard treatment for esophageal cancer is surgical resection, but its outcome remains poor. Then, the oncologists try to treat this cancer with sandwich protocols especially neo-adjuvant chemo-radiotherapy. Sever...
متن کاملTreatment results of radical surgery and definitive chemoradiotherapy for patients with submucosal esophageal squamous cell cancinomas.
BACKGROUND A radical esophagectomy with extensive lymph node dissection is the mainstay treatment for submucosal esophageal cancer, though definitive chemoradiotherapy (CRT) has also been applied. However, the treatment outcomes have not yet been extensively investigated. PATIENTS AND METHODS Forty-nine patients with submucocal esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, 24 and 25 of whom had been tr...
