Evaluation of Conservation Tillage Methods for Soil Moisture Conservation and Maize Grain Yield in Low Moisture Areas of SNNPR, Ethiopia

Abstract Conservation tillage is a promising practice for enhancing soil moisture conservation. The objective of the study to evaluate conservation methods on and maize grain yield in Silte Gurage zone Ethiopia. No tillage, one-time two times conventional were evaluated. treatments laid out randomized complete block design with three replications consecutive years (2018–2020). Besides data, selected physical chemical properties collected. Economic analysis was also computed each method select cost effective methods. result reveals, had better infiltration content relative tillage. There no significant difference between organic carbon, total nitrogen, phosphorus top 10 cm Mareko site. However, except phosphorus, differences ( p < 0.05) carbon nitrogen detected 10–20 depth. components are significantly affected by at site not Mito. results support that tested this could contribute improvement sites.
