EVALUATION OF ANKLE MOVEMENTS ON A SUDDEN INVERSION PLATFORM

چکیده

ABSTRACT Introduction: Ankle sprains are frequent in sports activities and can lead to joint instability with clinical performance consequences. Sudden ankle inversion platforms have been used study the mechanism of sprain. Objectives: To test a static platform that simulates movement sprain (sudden inversion) soccer players. Methods: A was developed perform sudden an dissociated three axes: inversion, plantar flexion, medial rotation. computer program also created read angular velocity time reach maximum amplitude axes movement, synchronized movements. Thirty players without were evaluated on platform. Each athlete performed 10 randomly initiated tests, five per leg. Results: There no statistical difference or range motion flexion rotation between tests. During increased. Conclusion: The movements by during reliably tests mechanical behavior. Level evidence I; Therapeutic studies - Investigation treatment outcomes.

Ankle musculature latency measurement to varing angles of sudden external oblique perturbation in normal functionally unstable ankles

Abstract Background: Several studies have examined the reflex response of ankle musculature to sudden inversion in noninjured and injured subjects. To date, there have been no studies to determine the effect of versatile degrees & conditions of perturbation on the ankle musculature latency. The purpose of this study was to measure and determine whether there was a difference in ankle musculatu...

Effects of tape and exercise on dynamic ankle inversion.

OBJECTIVE To compare the effects of tape, with and without prewrap, on dynamic ankle inversion before and after exercise. DESIGN AND SETTING Doubly multivariate analyses of variance were used to compare the taping and exercise conditions. Subjects were randomly assigned to a fixed treatment order as determined by a balanced latin square. The independent variables were tape application (no tap...

Effect of orthotics on postural sway following inversion ankle sprain.

Orthotic devices have been shown to successfully modify selected aspects of lower extremity mechanics and enhance foot stability during the support phase of running. It was hypothesized that orthotic intervention would relieve excessive strain on the ankle ligaments and reduce postural sway, especially in subjects with acute ankle sprains. The primary purpose of this study was to determine if o...
