Evaluation of air pollution tolerance index of tree species of Bikaner city (Rajasthan)

چکیده
The air pollution tolerance index (APTI) is one of the modern tools for assessing impacts pollutants on plant physiology. value APTI different species. Plants with higher values are tolerant and act as a sink due to their bioaccumulation ability pollutants. Hence, they can be planted establish green belts in areas severe pollution, especially industrial zones. present investigation was carried out assess top twenty urban tree species Bikaner city North-Western Rajasthan. leaf samples were taken from selected roadside trees distributed residential, commercial zones city. On basis values, it observed that Leucaena leucocephala (23.41), Eucalyptus camaldulensis (21.87) Cassia siamea (21.39) had an above 20 therefore classified Similarly, Pongamia pinnata (9.48) showed under 10, falls into sensitive category. 80 % total studied area categorized moderately There no very (APTI < 1) > 30)

A comparative study for air pollution tolerance index of some terrestrial plant species
Although water and land pollution are very dangerous, air pollution has its own peculiarities due to its transboundary dispersion of pollutants over the entire world. In any well planned urban set up, industrial pollution takes a back seat and vehicular emissions take precedence as the major cause of urban air pollution. In the present study, Air pollution tolerance index was calculated for var...
متن کاملIdentification and Evaluation of Air Pollution Tolerance Index of Selected Avenue Tree Species of Urban Bangalore, India
The resistivity and susceptibility level of tree species to air pollution within avenue’s of Urban Bangalore has been evaluated on the basis of Air Pollution Tolerance Index (APTI) value. Four parameters namely Leaf extract pH, Total Chlorophyll Content, Relative Water Content of Leaf and Ascorbic Acid content were determined and APTI was computed. The tree species with higher APTI values like ...

Development of a green belt with suitable plant species around the source of emission can mitigate the atmospheric contamination. Selection of such plant species are required to combat air pollution based on their tolerance level. Present study was undertaken to evaluate the tolerance level of higher plants in East of Esfahan city, Iran, during 2011 in terms of assessing Air Pollution Tolerance...
