Evaluating the ultimate bearing capacity of glued laminated bamboo hollow columns under eccentric compression

To improve the utilization rate of bamboo, glued laminated bamboo hollow column (GLBHC) was examined under eccentric compression to study effects different slenderness ratios, distances, and wall thicknesses on its ultimate bearing capacity. The nonlinear deformation material P-delta effect occur compression, which can affect capacity, so it is very important analyze elastic-plastic buckling column. Moreover, discontinuity section aggravates deformation. accurately estimate capacity GLBHC, considering difference in tensile elastic modulus, two models were established. A formula for GLBHC proposed, calculated results good agreement with test results.
