Evaluating The Sunshine Duration Characteristics In Association With Other Climate Variables

Many processes such as for industrial production, heating, cooling, health, education and etc. are depended on use the energy. In recent years, consumption of energy has been increased over world. Fossil sources cannot meet increase in demand. So, renewable especially solar become important this way. The applications with present clear environment friendly systems. Sunshine duration which is used estimating very crucial parameter human life. Climate variables atmospheric have influences sunshine duration. This study aims to demonstrate relations between daily other climate cloud amount, pressure, maximum air temperature, minimum relative humidity, precipitation wind speed. data all were obtained from measurements ground based observation station belonging Turkish State Meteorological Service. long term records examined Rize meteorological station. values transformed mean montly values. A 51 years (1960-2010) database was statistically analyzed by using method named Pearson Correlation Analysis (%95 confidence interval). results analysis shown that associated variables. grade these changed according different time periods. amount generally moderate, good weak degrees significant (p<0.05). highly negatively correlated except exceptional circumstances moderate December. correlations found pressure positively speed, temperature.
