Evaluating Surface Water Quality Using Indexes of Water Quality and Plankton Diversity

چکیده
The study aimed to assess the relationship between surface water quality and diversity of planktonic communities in An Giang province, Vietnam. national technical regulations on quality, index (WQI), Shannon-Wiener (H') were applied evaluate quality. considerable influence parameters dominant plankton was determined by canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) similarity percentage (SIMPER). results showed that contaminated organic matter, total suspended solids (TSS), microorganisms. WQI values classified as ranging from bad good. species composition phytoplankton dominated two phyla, Chlorophyta Bacillariophyta, zooplankton Rotifera group. SIMPER identified with density, including Melosira granulata, Pediastrum duplex, Anabaena sp., Lyngbya circumcreta. Microcyclops varicans, Filinia longiseta, Trichocerca pusilla, Copepoda nauplius, Brachionus caudatus, Polyarthra vulgarisdominated density zooplankton. Temperature, pH, TSS, ammonium, orthophosphate, coliform considerably plankton. However, indicators unable completely reflect These findings could contribute indicator selection developing monitoring programs. Doi: 10.28991/CEJ-2023-09-05-011 Full Text: PDF

In closed aquatic environments like ponds or lakes, water bloom caused by eutrophication has severely damaged aquatic ecosystems. Some previous studies suggested that submerged macrophytes contribute to the development of aquatic ecosystems and water purification. Although water purification and lake ecosystem restoration using submerged macrophytes have been greatly studied, their specific mec...
متن کاملEvaluation of Gorganrood river water quality based on surface water quality indicators in Gonbad Kavous
Background and Objective: Increased untreated wastewater and unsustainable development of agriculture has deteriorated water quality of rivers. The aim of this study was to determine the quality of water in Gorganrud River basin using NSFWQI IRWQISC and Liou Pollution Index and compare them with the global standards. To do this, GIS software.was used Materials and Methods: In this study, 5 sam...
متن کاملVulnerability assessment of surface water quality with an innovative integrated multi-parameter water quality index (IMWQI)
The development of a surface water evaluation index is a critical factor in the assessment, restoration and protection of stream water quality. Quantifying water pollution in specific grade using dominant parameters is important, as this can explain the current state of water pollution with accuracy. As a result, an integrated multi-parameter water quality index has been developed. It is based ...
