چکیده

Installation of concrete pavement at the curb travel lane bus stop is a common way to improve resistance pads environmental and petroleum deterioration in Canada. The Satisfactory condition pavements remains key consideration development infrastructure, especially countries with an aggressive environment. Innovative materials that could remarkably increase service life infrastructure are being researched developed over decades. This paper aggregates real-time comparison between performance carbon fiber-reinforced (CFRC) pad normal pad. A series wireless sensors such as temperature humidity sensors, thermocouples strain gauges were embedded both during construction. Additionally, six piezoelectric patches each Visual monitoring exhibited bus-pad remained cracked free while exhibiting some balling fibers on surface whereas several hairline cracks first 10 days Along visual using thermal imaging camera (FLIR), data was acquired regularly from bus-pads regular intervals. After 28 construction, Non-destructive tests (NDT) including Schmidt Hammer (SH), Electrical Resistivity (ER) Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) conducted pads. When compared pads, which have electrical resistivities roughly 30 kΩ-cm, CFRC showed extremely low resistivity. hammer UPV revealed degradation Several clusters very values observed location cracks. lesser indicative scatter wave energy due presence fibers.

Non-Destructive Testing Evaluation of Low Velocity Impact Damage in Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Laminated Composites

Fiber-reinforced laminated composite materials are widely used in aircraft, modern vehicles and light-weight structures. With their high elastic modulus, high strength, and capability of being tailored for a several applications, these materials offer definite advantages compared to more traditional structural materials. However, their behavior under impact is of concern since those events may ...

Non-Destructive Testing of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic by Infrared Thermography Methods

Composite materials are one answer to the growing demand for materials with better parameters of construction and exploitation. Composite materials also permit conscious shaping of desirable properties to increase the extent of reach in the case of metals, ceramics or polymers. In recent years, composite materials have been used widely in aerospace, energy, transportation, medicine, etc. Fiber-...

Thermographic Non-Destructive Evaluation for Natural Fiber-Reinforced Composite Laminates

Natural fibers, including mineral and plant fibers, are increasingly used for polymer composite materials due to their low environmental impact. In this paper, thermographic non-destructive inspection techniques were used to evaluate and characterize basalt, jute/hemp and bagasse fibers composite panels. Different defects were analyzed in terms of impact damage, delaminations and resin abnormal...

Non-destructive Characterization of Ply Orientation and Ply Type of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Laminated Composites

As the fuel efficiency of vehicles is being increased over the next decade due to both consumer demand and regulations, several automobile manufacturers are incorporating fiber-reinforced composites into their product line due to their high strength to weight ratio. While the fiber-reinforced components are lighter than the traditional aluminum and steel components, the processing and repair of...
