چکیده
Marine clay soils are problematic in the construction industry when they subjected to loads. When these loaded, lose their structure. This leads soil being unable withstand loads of any magnitude without exhibiting significant, permanent deformations. In order stabilize marine soil, new methods for improvement were built upon biogrouting by incorporating physical, biological and chemical treatments into soil. However, biggest challenge this method is bacteria migration through medium. To overcome issue, electrokinetic phenomenon can be utilized alongside prevent migration. regard, present study applied electrobiogrouting stabilization investigate acidic with a pH 3.69. accomplish this, two large-scale physical models dimensions 500 × 300 1200 mm fabricated examine influence different treated distances between inlet outlet—450 (D45) 600 (D60)—on stability It was observed that shear strength improved significantly. The at D45 distance increased from 3.65 kPa (untreated soil) 28.14 (treated soil). increasing distance. addition, compressibility electrical conductivity reduced significantly, Atterberg limits significantly enhanced OH OL. reasons enhancement formation CaCO3, which filled voids, water content reduced. address issues aims minimize high cost special foundation system use non-environmentally friendly materials such as calcium-based binders, aside reduction deformations caused loading. findings used soil’s geotechnical behavior general.

Indicators for evaluating soil quality
Interactions between the diversity of primary producers (plants) and of decomposers (microbes and mesofaunal communities), the two key functional groups that form the basis of all ecosystems have major consequences on the functioning of agricultural ecosystems. Soil microorganisms control the transformation and mineralization of natural compounds and xenobiotics. The soil microbiota, existing i...
متن کاملEvaluating improvement.
Evaluating quality improvement interventions requires a variety of methods. These range from quantitative methods, such as randomised controlled trials, to quasi-experimental (controlled before-and-after and interrupted time series) and uncontrolled before-and-after studies, including clinical audits, to determine whether improvement interventions have had an effect. Qualitative methods are oft...
متن کاملShear Strength of Soil
One of the most important and the most controversial engineering properties of soil is its shear strength or ability to resist sliding along internal surfaces within a mass. The stability of a cut, the slope of an earth dam, the foundations of structures, the natural slopes of hillsides and other structures built on soil depend upon the shearing resistance offered by the soil along the probable...

Background: Stroke is a prevalent cause of disability in adults. The fall is the most common balance and motor impairments, which affects the quality of life in stroke patients. This study aims to employ random effects hurdle model for evaluating the balance improvement in stroke patients under the occupational therapy. Methods: In this longitudinal study with repeated measurement during on...
متن کاملDesigner, acidic biochar influences calcareous soil characteristics.
In a proof-of-concept study, an acidic (pH 5.8) biochar was created using a low pyrolysis temperature (350 °C) and steam activation (800 °C) to potentially improve the soil physicochemical status of an eroded calcareous soil. Biochar was added at 0%, 1%, 2%, and 10% (by wt.) and soils were destructively sampled at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 month intervals. Soil was analyzed for gravimetric water con...
