Ethical judgments in the sharing economy: When consumers misbehave, providers complain

The complex triadic relationships among consumers, providers, and platforms in the sharing economy have led to increasing conflicts interactions between actors involved, especially when it comes unethical behavior, such as rule breaking by consumers. This paper examines consumer misbehavior from perspective of their peers, i.e., service providers. In two studies (an experiment a survey, combined N = 452), we observe significant positive effect ethical climate negative trust consumers on providers' strictness judgments through this word mouth. Further, survey results show that relationship mouth is only for providers with low or medium levels platform. highlight importance regulating economy.
