Ethical Issues in Neurotrauma: Challenges and Solutions

Abstract Neurotrauma is a medical field that deals with the treatment and prevention of serious injuries to brain, spinal cord, or peripheral nerves. It presents complex ethical issues require careful consideration balance between individual autonomy, public health, patient preferences, clinical outcomes. In this review, we examine several dilemmas in neurotrauma, including traumatic events, obtaining informed consent respecting preferences situations impaired cognition communication, determining appropriate use life-saving interventions, communicating patients families about prognosis Our analysis highlights need for nuanced evidence-based approach takes into account unique circumstances each balances potential benefits risks various interventions.
