ESTRO ACROP guidelines for target volume definition in pancreatic cancer

چکیده

Despite of the predominant role chemotherapy and surgery in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), radiotherapy (RT) still has a place multimodal management this disease where local tumour sequelae are fatal about 40% patients. RT (chemoradiotherapy stereotactic body radiotherapy) is used investigated non-metastatic setting as part definitive treatment strategies, (neo)adjuvant settings for locally recurrent disease. The ACROP committee was delegated by ESTRO to recommend target volume delineation these clinical situations. guidelines document result structured evaluation best available evidence panel international experts field. Guidance planning including diagnostic imaging provided. Recommendations given GTV delineation. definition CTV volumes critically discussed. Aspects motion patient positioning taken into account PTV definition. Furthermore, aspects organs at risk dose constraints described both, standard hypofractionated, settings. This guideline purpose support standardised optimised processes practice prospective studies.

The Role of MRSI in Target Volume Definition for Radiation Therapy of Prostate Cancer

Introduction: Recently, magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI), as a functional imaging method, has been used for clinical target volume definition. In this study, we used this method to define the target volume in prostate radiotherapy. Material and Method: In this study, we used images of 20 prostate cancer cases. MRSI and MRI images were fused with CT images. Then, treatment plannin...

Guidelines for target volume definition in post-operative radiotherapy for prostate cancer, on behalf of the EORTC Radiation Oncology Group.

The appropriate application of 3-D conformal radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiotherapy or image guided radiotherapy for patients undergoing post-operative radiotherapy for prostate cancer requires a standardisation of the target volume definition and delineation as well as standardisation of the clinical quality assurance procedures. Recommendations for this are presented on behalf of the ...

Positron emission tomography for target volume definition in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer.

The additional benefit of positron emission tomography (PET) in the initial staging of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has generated interest in 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET as a means of defining the extent of primary lung tumour for radiotherapy treatment planning (RTP). A review of published data suggests that PET results in a reduction in the CT-derived GTV for NSCLC primary target v...

ESTRO consensus guideline on target volume delineation for elective radiation therapy of early stage breast cancer, version 1.1.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Delineation of clinical target volumes (CTVs) is a weak link in radiation therapy (RT), and large inter-observer variation is seen in breast cancer patients. Several guidelines have been proposed, but most result in larger CTVs than based on conventional simulator-based RT. The aim was to develop a delineation guideline obtained by consensus between a broad European group...
