Estimation of the Compressive Strength of Corrugated Cardboard Boxes with Various Perforations

چکیده

This paper presents a modified analytical formula for estimating the static top-to-bottom compressive strength of corrugated board packaging with different perforations. The framework is based here on Heimerl’s assumption an extension from single panel to full box, enhanced numerically calculated critical load. In proposed method, torsional and shear stiffness cardboard, as well depth-to-width ratio implemented in finite element model used buckling analysis. new approach compared successful though simplified McKee also verified experimental results various designs made cardboard. obtained indicate that boxes containing specific perforations, methods give much larger estimation error than analytical–numerical article. To best knowledge authors, influence perforations has never been considered before or paperboard. novelty this adopt method presented include perforation box estimation.
