چکیده
Aim: To find out association of Serum Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) and Anti-Thyroid Antibodies (ATA) i.e., anti Tg-Ab & TPO-Ab with thyroid carcinoma in nodule patients presented Mayo Hospital Lahore. Study design: It was a comparative cross-sectional study. Methods: wasconducted Biochemistry Department Biomedical Sciences KEMU, Lahore from February 2018 to May 2019. Seventy were included the study based on selection criteria data recorded preformed questionnaire. The participants classified into benign (n=36) malignant categories (n=34) histopathological radiological investigations. levels TSH anti- antibodies (TPO-Ab&Tg-Ab) measured employing ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay) technique. Results: nodules found be more prevalent females (n=64, 91.4%). mean age subjects 38.46±12.92 years there significant older (p=0.001). Moreover, TSH, Anti-Tg-Ab higher than significantly associated cancer (p=<0.05). Furthermore, binary logistic regression analysis concluded that serum may increase risk malignancy (OR=5.124). Conclusion: Older showed patients. Keywords: carcinoma, stimulating hormone, Anti- thyroglobulin Antibody, Anti-TPO antibodies,

Thyroid Nodule Management: Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone, Ultrasound, and Cytological Classification System for Predicting Malignancy
Background/objectives Thyroid nodule (TN) is a common thyroid disorder globally, and the incidence has been increasing in recent decades. The objective of this study was to determine the contribution of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), ultrasound (US), and cytological classification system for predicting malignancy among the surgically excised nodules. Design and methods A retrospective ana...
متن کاملTHYROID FUNCTION TESTS Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH): The thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) assay measures the concentration of thyroid stimulating hormone in the serum. TSH assays
The thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) assay measures the concentration of thyroid stimulating hormone in the serum. TSH assays have been classified by "generation" based on the functional sensitivity of the assay, i.e., the lowest concentration at which the assay is able to maintain an inter-assay precision, expressed in terms of percent coefficient of variation (%CV), of 20% or less. Virtually...
متن کاملThyroid nodule shape suggests malignancy.
OBJECTIVE To evaluate if a nodule with shape taller than wide (anteroposterior/transverse diameter ratio, A/T > or = 1) is a good predictor of malignancy independent of the size. METHODS We retrospectively examined the cytological and histological results of 7455 nodules (5198 patients) referred for ultrasound-guided-fine needle aspiration cytology (US-FNAC) in our hospital from January 1991 ...
