چکیده

Background: Bone Mineral density (BMD) is considered as one of the golden tool to measure bone quality in which two measurements namely T- Score and Z –score are used report BMD test results. Whenever there deterioration it associated with low skeletal mass. Creatinine a chemical waste molecule that generated from this muscle metabolism. good marker for However, limited studies have been done tell us association between loss serum creatinine (SCr) levels.Methodology: 200 participants who were referred CECT abdomen pelvis scanned using 128 slice Philips Brilliance CT. Using software, four different vertebral bodies L1-L4 taken ROI was placed at central portion trabecular bone, reference ROI’s, retro spinal fat tissue also placed. To CT attenuation value, graphic drawn bone. Average HU BMD, T score values L1-L4.Statistical Analysis: The data analysed SSPS version 16.0. For assessment normal values, results averaged age, level, descriptive statistics calculated. Spearman’s correlation coefficient estimate score. Results: SCr correlated negatively -0.25. -0.187.Conclusion: It evident study findings, non-association levels showed person not kidney function. Thus, cannot be biomarker osteoporosis or osteopenia.

Bone Mineral Density in Healthy South Indian Men

Osteoporosis is characterized by low bone mass and micro architectural deterioration of bone tissue, with a consequent increase in bone fragility and susceptibility to fracture. It has been difficult to attribute bone loss in aging men to either testosterone or estrogen deficiency. 179 apparently healthy South Indian men in the age group of 40-80 yrs were studied. Body Mass Index (BMI), Bone Mi...

The Progression of Bone Mineral Density Loss in Dialysis Patients Compared with the General Population

BACKGROUND/AIMS The aim of this study was to compare the progression of bone mass loss in chronic hemodialysis patients (CHPs) with that in general population patients (GPPs) over an 18-month period. METHODS The control group consisted of 60 patients (aged 57.5 ± 10.9 years) with a glomerular filtration rate > 60 mL/min/1.73 m(2). The study group included 80 patients undergoing hemodialysis (...

Estimating a Bounded Normal Mean Under the LINEX Loss Function

Let X be a random variable from a normal distribution with unknown mean θ and known variance σ2. In many practical situations, θ is known in advance to lie in an interval, say [−m,m], for some m > 0. As the usual estimator of θ, i.e., X under the LINEX loss function is inadmissible, finding some competitors for X becomes worthwhile. The only study in the literature considered the problem of min...

Frequency of Decreased Bone Mineral Density and Its Risk Factors during Childhood among Iranian Hemophilia Patients

This study was undertaken to assess the frequency of decreased bone mineral density and its risk factors as well as its impact on the quality of life during childhood among hemophiliac patients. Materials and Methods: Thirty seven children with severe hemophilia A and B, referred to Mofid Children’s Hospital during 2010, were selected. For all patients the joint score, body mass indexes, bone...

The Correlation between Trabecular Bone Score and Lumbar Spine Bone Mineral Density in Patients with Normal and High Body Mass Index

Background: Trabecular bone score (TBS) measures the underlying quality of bone texture using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) images. The present study aimed to investigate the correlation between lumbar spine bone mineral density (BMD) and TBS, and subsequently determine whether the association varies with the body mass index (BMI). Methods: Data from 548 patients were collected a...
