Ergodic inventory control with diffusion demand and general ordering costs

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this work, we consider a continuous-time inventory system where the demand process follows an inventory-dependent diffusion process. The ordering cost of each order depends on quantity and is given by general function, which not even necessarily continuous monotone. By applying lower bound approach together with comparison theorem, show global optimality (s,S) policy for ergodic control problem.

Dynamic Inventory Planning with Unknown Costs and Stochastic Demand

Generally ordering policies are done by two methods, including fix order quantity (FOQ) and fix order period (FOP). These methods are static and either the quantity of ordering or the procedure of ordering is fixing in throughout time horizon. In real environments, demand is varying in any period and may be considered as uncertainty. When demand is variable in any period, the traditional and st...

Emergency orders in the periodic-review inventory system with fixed ordering costs and compound Poisson demand

Emergency orders have shorter lead times but incur extra costs compared to normal orders. We present a discrete-time Markov decision model where normal orders are issued according to a reorder point policy with a fixed order quantity, whereas emergency orders are controlled by a state-dependent reorder point policy with a target stock level. A rapid policy iteration algorithm is used to find an...

Coordinating Inventory Control and Pricing Strategies with Random Demand and Fixed Ordering Cost: the Infinite Horizon

We analyze an infinite horizon, single product, periodic review model in which pricing and production/inventory decisions are made simultaneously. Demands in different periods are identically distributed random variables that are independent of each other and their distributions depend on the product price. Pricing and ordering decisions are made at the beginning of each period and all shortage...
