Equivalence between simple multilayered and homogeneous laboratory-based rheological models in planetary science

چکیده

The goal of this work is to investigate under which circumstances the tidal response a stratified body can be approximated by that homogeneous body. We show any multilayered planet model body, with same dissipation energy as function excitation frequency, long rheology sufficiently complex. Moreover we provide two straightforward methods for finding parameters would exhibit layered These results highlight fact models cannot distinguished from each other only measurement second degree Love number and quality factor, do not need complexity multilayer in order estimate its dissipation. methodology promises great simplification treatment bodies numerical simulations because -- even complex rheological computationally better handled than planet.

Rheological complexity in simple chain models.

Dynamical properties of short freely jointed and freely rotating chains are studied using molecular dynamics simulations. These results are combined with those of previous studies, and the degree of rheological complexity of the two models is assessed. New results are based on an improved analysis procedure of the rotational relaxation of the second Legendre polynomials of the end-to-end vector...

Simple Homogeneous Models

This paper attempts to give a self-contained development of dividing theory (also called forking theory) in a strongly homogeneous structure. Dividing is a combinatorial property of the invariant relations on a structure that have yielded deep results for the models of so-called “simple” first-order theories. Below we describe for the nonspecialist how this paper fits in the broader context of ...

LAPLAS: Laboratory Planetary Science at Future FAIR Facility

Study of the structures of giant planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune is a very interesting subject as this knowledge could lead to clues about formation of the solar system and can also shed light on the early stages of evolution of life on earth. The first two planets are believed to be made mainly of hydrogen that exists under extreme conditions, while the latter two are expected to ...
