Equilibrium Solubility of Triclocarban in (Cyclohexane + 1,4-Dioxane) Mixtures: Determination, Correlation, Thermodynamics and Preferential Solvation

چکیده

Abstract Equilibrium solubility of triclocarban (TCC) expressed in mole fraction 1,4-dioxane and cyclohexane, as well, 19 {cyclohexane (1) + (2)} mixtures, was determined at seven temperatures from T = (288.15 to 318.15) K. Logarithmic TCC these cosolvent mixtures adequately correlated with a lineal bivariate equation function both the composition temperature. Apparent thermodynamic quantities for dissolution mixing processes were computed by means van’t Hoff Gibbs equations observing endothermal entropy-driven all cases. The enthalpy–entropy compensation plot apparent enthalpy vs. energy linear exhibiting positive slope implying enthalpy-driving transfer cyclohexane 1,4-dioxane. Ultimately, using inverse Kirkwood–Buff integrals it is observed that preferentially solvated molecules 1,4-dioxane-rich but cyclohexane-rich mixtures.

Preferential Solvation of Fenofibrate in (Ethanol or Acetone) + Water Mixtures at 298.15 K

The aim of this communication was to expand the results of numerical analyses performed by Sun et al. on their experimental solubility of fenofibrate in aqueous mixtures of ethanol and acetone at 298.15 K, in terms of the evaluation of the preferential solvation of this compound by the organic solvents and water in the saturated mixtures based on the inverse Kirkwood-Buff integrals (IKBI). ...

Acetonitrile-protein interactions: amino acid solubility and preferential solvation.

The solubility of amino acids and the preferential solvent interaction of hen-egg lysozyme in acetonitrile (AN)-water mixtures (<60 w/v% AN) were investigated by means of densimetric and refractometric methods at 25 degreesC. The free energy of transfer from water to aqueous AN was negative for most nonpolar side-chains of amino acids and positive for the peptide group, the extent being compara...

Predicting Solvation Free Energies and Thermodynamics in Polar Solvents and Mixtures Using a Solvation-Layer Interface Condition

We demonstrate that with two small modifications, the popular dielectric continuum model is capable of predicting, with high accuracy, ion solvation thermodynamics in numerous polar solvents, and ion solvation free energies in water–co-solvent mixtures. The first modification involves perturbing the macroscopic dielectric-flux interface condition at the solute–solvent interface with a nonlinear...
